Having an issue and hoping someone can help.  I can't get the links to link outside of the local folder. (example: If I try to link to google it's looking for google in the folder where index.html is located.)

Help a loser out!

so i managed to finally open the instructions
since it kept just taking me to chrome.

my question is, how do you install this? like, where exactly do you put
the html?

You can put the HTML anywhere, but recommended in a place you know where it would be, like Documents, or make a new folder dedicated to customizations.  "since it kept just taking me to chrome" You don't want to use Chrome? You must have it as your default then. Google "Change default browser" for your specific windows version.

If you are using Chrome, that's a little tricky as Chrome doesn't have a specific function to open a new tab and automatically open a specific URL, which you need for it to work.  There is an extension called "Tab Redirect" for chrome, but for some reason I can't get to it. You can try yourself and see if you have more luck than me… Otherwise use Firefox or Safari instead.

actually, i just figured everything out!
thank you so much for the tab redirect, or it would have never worked on chrome!
you're the best <3

You're welcome, when in doubt, go to google hehe. That's what I did when I realized Chrome had no customization for a new tab homepage.

it was a huge help. it's all pretty now :)

alright, so the tab redirect worked perfectly! so now
when i click a new tab, it goes to the startpage... however, how do i edit it?

currently it's opening straight into chrome, but as the example version.
(so like, where the first link says example, and all the rest say untitled)
how do I edit the coding so that it has my custom shortcuts/hotkeys?
especially since anytime i open the index, it opens the actual startpage
into chrome. (if that makes any sense)

also, with the HTML, do i need to save it as a certain type of document?
